"Quebec has opened their arms to Haitian culture. It is high time that the Haitians have a little better the culture,(...)"

ART SHOW AND Québec-Haiti-Movies: "Midnight" at the Quebec Film Festival in Haiti Posted on 27 February 2009 "Midnight", the first film by Fabienne Colas will be screened at the Festival du film québécois in Haiti to be held from 19 to 22 March under the Fortnight of la Francophonie. From 19 to 22 March, eight feature films will be screened Quebec Port-au-Prince, as part of the Fortnight of la Francophonie.
The menu should include recent successes like CRAZY, Congorama, A Sunday in Kigali, La grande seduction and Bon Cop, Bad Cop, two films made by Haitians in Montreal: How to conquer America in one night, Dany Laferrière and Minuit, Fabienne Colas and Sophia Desire. We knew the Haitian Film Festival of Montreal. It is now the Quebec film festival in Haiti, said the Canadian daily La Presse. "Quebec has opened their arms to Haitian culture. It is high time that the Haitians have a little better the culture, Ms. Colas launches, which put the project off. Our review should enable them to become familiar with what comes from here, at least in the movies ... " The festival, modest sum will be mainly funded by the Department of International Relations and the Ministry of Culture, Communications and the Status of Women, in collaboration with the Haitian Ministry of Culture. It will be coordinated by the Canadian Embassy in Haiti, which will handle advertising and promotion. The films will be shown in the largest cinema in Port-au-Prince (The Imperial) and should end with an open air on the Champs de Mars, an area that can accommodate up to 5000 people. Note that the Quebecois Film Festival in Haiti is part of a more comprehensive cultural rapprochement between Quebec and Haiti. A joint statement was signed to that effect between the two governments at the last summit of la Francophonie in Quebec City. -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ In the News Politics Economy Society Sports Provinces Art & Entertainment Tourism © 2000 all rights reserved - Haiti Press Network Privacy Policy - Terms of Service - Advertising on HPN Technical questions: webmaster@haitipressnetwork.com For general information: info@haitipressnetwork.com Conception & réalisation: Stéphane Bruno
