HAVANA, Cuba (ACN): Cuba has begun to produce the first allergenic vaccines developed by scientists of the National Center of Bio- preparations(BIOCEN), for the diagnosis and treatment of asthma.
The vaccine was submitted to clinical trials in hospitals in Havana, where it was proved to be effective. It has been certified by the Government’s Center for Medicine Control and has been approved by several scientific centers in different countries.
The medicine does not have side effects and is applied subcutaneously, while scientists continue to work on a sublingual method.
The announcement was made by the head of BIOCEN’s Allergens Department, Alexis Labrada Rosado, as he defended his doctoral thesis on Health Sciences.
